WATER METER READING IN MAY – RESIDENTS REMINDED TO CLEAR THE WAY FOR METER READERS
Water meter reading is conducted in May & November each year in Bundarra and Uralla. Water bills will be sent out at the end of the following month.
Council relies on accurate and timely water meter readings to make sure you are billed correctly for water use. You can help by allowing clear access to your water meter so meter readers can record your water use and repair or replace your water meter if required.
Council staff may not be able to read your meter if:
- it is behind a locked gate
- it is unsafe to enter the property
- an aggressive dog is present
- it is buried in concrete or dirt
- it is inaccessible due to overgrown grass, garden or vegetation.
Please help Council staff to safely access your water meter by ensuring there is at least 1 metre clearance either side of your water meter and 2 metres above it.
If Council cannot read your meter a letter will be left at your property stating why it could not be read and the date when the meter reader will return to try again. Should the meter be inaccessible due to overgrowth you are requested to clear vegetation prior to the meter reader returning. When the meter reader returns if the meter still cannot be read, Council may clear the vegetation at a cost to the owner so that an accurate read can be taken.
