Council flags will fly at half-mast on Friday, 25 September 2020 as a mark of mourning and respect for the Honourable John Fahey AC. The State Funeral will take place on Friday, 25 September 2020 at 11am.
The Honourable John Fahey AC, Premier of NSW from 1992 to 1995, dedicated almost two decades of his life in service to NSW and Australia. Mr Fahey helped deliver major reforms for NSW, both as Premier and as a senior member of the Greiner Government.
During his time as Premier, Mr Fahey’s many achievements included the introduction of the Disability Services Act, introduction of the NSW Senior’s Card and the swearing in of the first NSW Minister for the Status of Women. As Minister for Industrial Relations, he led a major overhaul of NSW’s Industrial Relations system.
