Our Mayor and Councillors were sworn in at a ceremony in Uralla Shire’s Council Chambers on 17 September.
At the first meeting of our new council, on Tuesday 24 September, Councillors elected Cr Tom O’Connor as Deputy Mayor for a term of 1 year.

URALLA SHIRE REFERENDUM

On Wednesday 01 October, the NSW Electoral Commission declared results of Uralla Shire’s referendum.

Question 1 – Are you in favour of the Mayor being elected by the Councillors, was NOT PASSED. Therefore, our community will continue to directly elect their mayor at future local government elections.

Question 2 – Are you in favour of removing the current ward system, was PASSED. Therefore, at future local government elections, voters in Uralla Shire will elect councillors in an undivided council area.

We congratulate those elected, and look forward to working together over the coming term of Council.
