Public Exhibition: Uralla Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement

No longer on display. Expired on 19 April 2021, 05:00 PM

Version 1 of the Uralla Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement is currently on public exhibition.

The Uralla Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) was adopted by Council at its Extraordinary meeting held 29 September 2020. The LSPS applies to the whole Uralla Shire Local Government Area, and is a key document to guide local strategic planning in the Uralla Shire.

The LSPS sets out the 20-year vision for the Uralla Shire, demonstrates how change will be managed, and identifies local priorities for updating the Council Local Environmental Plan (LEP).

The purpose of the LSPS is to:

  • Set a clear 20-year vision for land use in the Uralla Shire.
  • Describe the unique characteristics which contribute to the Uralla Shire local identity.
  • Describe our shared community values.
  • Guide the future growth and change in the Uralla Shire.

The LSPS aims to achieve these goals by outlining the Local Strategic Planning Vision and identifying 13 planning priorities and 34 actions.

The LSPS sets a clear line of sight between the key strategic directions of productivity, liveability, sustainability, and infrastructure. The LSPS plans for the Uralla Shire community’s economic, social and environmental land use needs over the next 20 years to 2040, and will be used by Council and other stakeholders to inform policy development, infrastructure planning, and delivery of services to our community.
