Notice of Proposed Road Name

Uralla Shire Council announces that the following name is proposed for a new road.  This is to replace the previously proposed Myrtle Close, which was rejected by the Geographical Names Board, due to a similarly named road in Armidale:

Raymond Close

Raymond assisted to build the Uralla Central School and was the president of the P&C for many years.  He was in the Uralla Rotary Club and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow recognition.  He was an active member of the Methodist Church, which then became the Uniting Church, and also a member of every local choir and participated in Mrs O’Malley’s Magnificent Musical Hall.

Reason for Proposal:  To progress Stage Two of Subdivision DA-3-2022 at 10‑12 Fitzroy Street Uralla.

Location:  Starting at Hill Street, 95 metres south of Fitzroy Street North, running north-east for 115 metres.
