At its Ordinary Meeting held 29th June 2021, Council resolved to place the DRAFT Asbestos Policy 2021 on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.
1. The Asbestos Policy has been reviewed and meets the standards, codes of practice and current legislation.
2. The Asbestos policy outlines the role of Council and other organisations in managing asbestos, and implementing relevant regulatory powers.
3. As a person conducting a business undertaking (PCBU) under the Work, Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) and as a local authority under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), Council has an important dual role in minimising exposure to asbestos, as far as is reasonably practicable, to both residents within the Shire and Council staff.

Written submissions can be made to Council until 5:00pm, 28th July 2021.
