Uralla Shire Council wishes to inform the community that there are four active cases of COVID-19 among residents at McMaugh Gardens, and additional measures regarding restriction of visitors and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment have come into place.
Unfortunately, one resident who developed COVID-19 symptoms (among other co-morbidities) died at the facility on 7 April 2022. The resident was supported through his end-of-life care by McMaugh Gardens staff, along with visiting family members, as per his care-order and his family’s wishes.
The first resident who contracted COVID-19 is recovering well.
One staff member has since tested positive and is isolating at home.
As a result of COVID-19 activity, McMaugh Gardens is currently closed to visitors. The closure took effect on 4 April, when the first positive case was detected as part of a routine Rapid Antigen Testing process.
McMaugh Gardens staff are working closely with Local, State and Commonwealth Health, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Public Health Unit during this time.
Phone or video calls are accessible for all residents to enable regular communication with family and friends.
To arrange a phone call or face time please contact McMaugh Gardens on (02) 6778 6380.
