Councillor Isabel Strutt was elected as Deputy Mayor at Council’s Ordinary Meeting of Council held on Tuesday, 22 September 2020.
Newly elected Deputy Mayor, Cr Isabel Strutt said she was honoured to be elected and was looking forward to the year ahead.
“I would like to thank my fellow Councillors for the opportunity to serve my community as Deputy Mayor.”
“We have had a challenging time so far in 2020 with drought, bushfires, water quality issues at the beginning of the year and of course, the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.”
“I look forward to continuing to support the Uralla Shire Community over the next year.”
Uralla Shire Council Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce congratulated Cr Strutt while also thanking Cr Robert Crouch for his service as Deputy Mayor for the last two years.
“Councillor Crouch has demonstrated a high level of commitment to the community during his term as Deputy Mayor, and I look forward to working with all the Councillors over the next year to best serve our community.”
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, local government elections were postponed at the beginning of the year 2021. As the Deputy Mayor’s term concluded this month, an election was held at the September Ordinary Meeting of Council and there were three nominations for the position.
