Uralla Shire Council joined the Bundarra community and Member for Northern Tablelands Mr Adam Marshall MP to celebrate the official opening of the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club amenities block on Saturday, 5 December 2020.

The community gathered together to celebrate the project completion and mark the official opening of the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club amenities block.

The Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club amenities block project was initiated by members of the Bundarra community. Council worked closely with the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club to secure the grant funding and deliver the project.

The project was funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 2 grant program and consisted of the construction of an amenities block with showers, accessible toilet, and parking access for people with a disability.

All project construction and painting works were completed by local contractors with project management undertaken by Council staff.

Uralla Shire Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce said Council was proud to provide the upgraded, inclusive amenities and deliver the project to the Bundarra community.

“This is an excellent outcome for the Bundarra community. The new amenities block will benefit the Bundarra sporting groups and leagues, the Bundarra Central School, and will enable these groups to host and deliver even more community events.”

“The completion of this project provides inclusive amenities to encourage active participation from all members of our community,” Mayor Pearce said.

Through this round of funding, the NSW Government invested $1.5 million in the Uralla Shire to provide high quality community and sports-related infrastructure. Of this amount, $197,300 was allocated to the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club amenities block.

The opening event was held on Saturday, 5 December 2020 at the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club on Thunderbolts Way in conjunction with a home cricket game and the Bundarra Lions Club Christmas party.
