Building a stronger economy for the South New England High Country Region.

Uralla Shire Council is working collaboratively with Armidale Regional and Walcha Councils to develop a regional economic strategy in partnership with the NSW State Government. The South New England High Country’s Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) involves extensive community and business consultation and is being developed in collaboration with the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Centre for Economic and Regional Development (CERD). CERD has also engaged specialist economic consultants Sapere Research Group to work with our Councils, the community and businesses in the region in developing our regional REDS.

Community, business and industry leaders are invited to attend a major workshop and participate in the development of the South New England High Country’s Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) on Monday 28 August, Uralla Bowling Club from 12:30pm - 5pm with a light lunch provided.

Strong stakeholder engagement and ownership of the process and outcome is critical to the development of an authentic and robust strategy that addresses the specific priorities, strengths, challenges and competitive advantages of our regional economy. So a big turnout is necessary, is expected and will be welcomed.
