Uralla Shire Council Library
Welcome to your library, Uralla Library Service is a place of inspiration for community members and provides a socially inclusive environment for all generations . 
Library services to Uralla Shire residents are provided through the Central Northern Libraries partnership, library members have access to a wide selection of information and leisure resources including books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, Large Print and Talking Books on CD. If an item is not available at your local branch it can be reserved or obtained through interlibrary loan.  An extensive range of eResources can also be accessed online at www.cnl.nsw.gov.au
Public access  computers connect our community and visitors with ideas, technology and information. Use of the computers and access to Wi-Fi  is provided free of charge.
Uralla Library is open 7 days a week and is closed on public holidays. The Library uses sustainable energy direct from the sun and is located next to the Visitor Information Centre on the main street of Uralla.
To become a library member, identification showing your name and current residential address is required. Membership is free and there is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 18 years require a signature from their parent or guardian.  Our friendly library staff will assist you with your application and issue you with a membership card, the entire process takes only a few minutes and you can enjoy all the benefits the library provides immediately.
Online membership is also available. After completing this temporary membership form online you will need to confirm your membership at the library by presenting current ID showing your name and residential address. After checking your ID, library staff will give you a membership application form to sign and complete, and you will be issued with your library card.

Children’s Story Time 
Storytime offers singing, reading, and age related craft experiences for preschool aged children. Join us at the Library every Tuesday at 10.30am.
Lego Club
Lego Club is a great place to be creative, have fun and meet other Lego fans aged between 5 – 12 years. Visit the Library on the third Thursday of the month from 4.00 – 5.00pm. The building theme changes each month. Lego Club is free – no bookings required, latecomers welcome.
Holiday Activity Program
The library is  part of THE SUMMER READING CLUB, this is available to all children of reading age. A variety of school holiday activities take place throughout the year, please contact the library for further details.
Book Discussion Group
Do you enjoy reading, meeting people and sharing your ideas and opinions about books and authors? If so, join us at Uralla Library from 4pm on the third Tuesday of every month for a lively and inclusive discussion for adults. New members are always welcome. Copies of the current book of the month are available to borrow or download from the library.
Knattering Knitters
Visit Uralla library every Tuesday from 10am & Sunday from 2pm to meet friendly locals in a relaxed and casual environment. Help each other learn, design and produce a variety of wonderful creations. An entertaining and eclectic morning of craft, conversation and coffee – all experience levels welcome.
Internet access at the library is available free of charge, with six public access computers – bookings are available. Microsoft Office programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher are accessible. Users may save information to flash drives, these may be the user's own or a flash drive purchased from the library.
A wireless hotspot is also free and available for users who have their own portable device.
Free 24/7 access to our eResources including eBooks,  eMagazines, eComics and other online resources.  Access to these resources is via an internet connection, a library membership number and password is required.
Photocopying, scanning and printing facilities are available – charges apply.
House Bound Service
Delivers books to people who are physically unable to visit the library. Members can call the Library for books they wish to borrow and the House Bound service provides free delivery of the books to their homes. The deliveries are restricted to Uralla township. Arrangements can be made for carers to pick up books from the library on members’ behalf.
Uralla History Hub
The Uralla History Hub is a new facility for researchers of local and family history. The Hub is in the early stages of development and currently provides access to online records via ancestry.com, over 40 local tales recorded as part of the Uralla Stories Project, and historical Uralla newspapers on microfilm. One to One training is available for assistance using Ancestry.com, scanning images and family research – bookings essential.
Researchers are invited to donate copies of Uralla Shire related material for addition to the collection and volunteers are welcome to assist with development of resources.
